I was walking the Boardwalk yesterday and I decided to sit down and have a appetizer at Pier 14 restaurant. I got the calamari which was lightly breaded and very tasty but the pieces near the bottom were a bit greasy and soggy it needed drained a bit more. The calamari was $8.00 I wish I could say I would return but the service was very very slow I asked them when my food was brought out to bring my bill right away as I had to be out at 14th and Ocean blvd to be picked up at 4:30 but I had to ask again for the bill after I was finished eating. Yet it did not come not to mention two people who sat down after I did got up and left, one group did not order yet they had 4 young kids and I suppose they needed fed soon as they gave up and left. The other group ordered but it took so long for their food to come out they left also. I just got up and walked back in to the bar and told them what I ordered and paid the lady at the bar and left. Sorry I'm afraid your losing service and it was not even that busy there

I'm so sorry to hear of your experience, Lauren! When I first started reading, I thought maybe it was crowded because they are currently running a coupon for lunch/dinner BOGO 1/2 off. But then I saw your last comment which said they were "not that busy."

You might want to call, e-mail or send a letter to the restaurant, since the calamari was "very tasty but the pieces near the bottom were a bit greasy and soggy," and the service was not up to par.

That's disappointing. We have eaten there several times and the service is usually great. We went in Spring last year and the service was noticably slower though. Maybe with slower customers comes slower service? We do usually enjoy it there. I would let management know as Patrish said, that might make all the difference!
