I see no one has posted in this section in a LONG time, but since this is the appropriate spot, I'm going to post here!

It's still 14 months out, but we definitely want to go fishing when we come to MB. We are staying at a condo in Ocean Forest Plaza.

What are the options for fishing in MB? Is there anywhere you can rent a boat and go fish? How about on the Intracoastal water way? We do have our own inflatable boat. Are there any good spots you can boat/fish? that are not in the ocean?

This is really our first summer/foray into fishing and will be an important part of our trip so I want to do some research.

Charter boats sail out of Little River and Murrels Inlet.

You will be closer to North Myrtle Beach than to Murrels Inlet (the 2 places where you can rent boats) and myrtle beachcomber's suggestion is good! Head north!

Here's s link to my list of piers and pier fishing info. It basically tells you about the piers and contains fishing information.

http://funbeaches.com/piers.html

Also listed on that page is a link to he Myrtle Beach Fishing Report - whats running right now
http://myrtlebeachfishing.org/report/

Also see:

http://www.funbeaches.com/to_do.html

Scroll about 3/4 was down on the page to find (in big red letter)
WATER SPORTS - SAILING - CHARTERS

This will gie you the names, location and information for most all the fishing charters.

Have fun planning your vacation...planning is half the fun!

My brother has rented a charted for this Wednesday and I am supposed to go. I will do a full review if I make it out. I had ear surgery at Vanderbilt on June 11th and I just thought I was all healed up until I came over the mountains getting here. It has slowed me down a little this week.

My mom, brother and myself have a hereditary ear disease called Otosclerosis. It is where the bones in the ear fuse together and no longer vibrate which causes hearing loss. Eight years ago I was told I didn't have Otosclerosis and that my hearing loss was due to nerve damage. Basically the only solution I was given was hearing aides. At 40 years old I just wasn't ready for that. Last year my brother was diagnosed with Otosclerosis and sent to Vandy for surgery which is called a staplendetomy. Basically they use a laser to unfuse the bones and replace with a prosthetic bone. At the time the specialist at Vandy told my brother for me to come and see him. He felt the chances were high that I had the disease. I was very skeptical because I felt like the disease had been ruled out for me. So I didn't go  Two months ago I decided I couldn't hear hardly anything at work and I was going for a hearing aides. I went to a local audiologist friend of mine and she confirmed that I did in fact have Otosclerosis. She referred me to Vandy, I had the surgery and I can now hear. My brother and I both had less than 10% hearing in our affected ear. He now has over 90% and mine was at 60% at my post op appointment. Mine should continue to improve over the next three months as the packing dissolves behind my ear drum. So....if you don't believe in miracles this is mine!
