We had read positive reviews on this eatery and loved the story how the waitress had bought it from the owner. We wanted to give it a try.
This is in a small strip mall near Barefoot Landing. We were welcomed warmly into the restaurant and were seated promptly. The owner/waitress brought over the specials board and explained them all. First we were brought out a basket of hush puppies that had a distinct oniony taste. I realize there are many forms of hush puppies and these were good but I love mine a bit sweeter and not so savory. Paul and I each started with She Crab Soup. It was good but the roux of the soup had not been dissolved promptly so every once in a while you would get a tiny ball of flour/butter. It was tasty though. We then both ordered the shrimp sandwich with homemade chips. This was good as well. The shrimp were sweet and fried nicely. The only thing we felt was it was a bit overpriced for what we got. We each had a cup of the soup, sandwich, and sweet tea and it was almost $40.00 for the both of us. Not crazy expensive just didn't feel it was worth $20 a person. Would we return? Probably not as there are so many other amazing places in the area.
