We had dinner here on Monday evening. Bubba's is located on South Ocean Blvd. in Surfside Beach. We went late around 8pm. We were able to walk right in. There were 5 of us tonight. Two of us got the crabcakes. One got the mussells, one crabcake and a salad. Another got shrimp salad. And one got fried shrimp. We all thought the dinners were good. We each had long island ice teas...they were nothing to write home about...we will stick to beer and ice tea...We each paid for our own meals and the prices were around $25 plus tips. I did not know before but you can get food "to go" here. The service was prompt. We were all given water with our meals. The food was hot when served. We will return.

We've always enjoyed Bubba's Fish Shack. Prices are reasonable and the food is consistently good. My ONLY complaint is that the majority of the food there is fried.

Yes, I did notice that. I do not let myself eat fried food all year and then pig out on vacation  good thing I do not ever have my cholesteral or BP checked right after our beach trips!

We enjoyed some fried food at Bubba's. We were in the area, we were hungry, and that evil voice in my had said "Fired food is good food." OK...so much for excuses.

The food WAS good, and there was plenty of it. I ordered the Shrimp Platter. I think it had 20+ shrimp. I wasn't counting, but there were a lot on that plate and they were very tasty! Wally ordered the Blackened Grouper Platter which was tender, properly done and very good taste. It was a little spicy, but not too much. I am NOT a lover of spicy food, but I could eat this grouper anytime.

The hush puppies were as good as they looked! 'Nuf said.

It was crowded when we were there, but the wait people handled it well and we didn't have a very long wait for our orders. I think when we left there were about 8 people waiting to eat.

If I'm going to eat fried fish, this is still one of my favorite places to do it.

I get my PBR in the Inlet and elsewhere for as low as $1.25,
Creek Ratz & Hot Fish Club all the time.
