I know....Bovine's is a beef restaurant, but since we ordered seafood, I thought I would post my review here.

Wally and I had dinner at Bovines, on the Marshwalk in Murrells Inlet on April 14. We were seated by a window in the dining room and enjoyed a beautiful view of Garden City and Marlin Quay across the Inlet.

Our waitress, Sarah, is an asset to Bovines with her friendly manner and knowledgable about the menu. We both ordered the Barbecue Salmon with a baked potato. (The meal was also served with cornbread.) $18.95

They have added a salad bar since we were there last, and what great salad bar it is! I'm a big salad lover, and I've been disappointed more than once with the salads that are served in many of our local restaurants. This salad bar, however, had everything I could wish for… lettuce, spinach, baby corn, beets, broccoli, thin-sliced red onions, shredded cheese, carrots, olives, yellow squash, chopped hard boiled eggs, real crumbled bacon, sunflower seeds, croutons, and a variety of dressings. I'm sorry I didn't take a picture!

We used the coupon in 'Attractions Dining and Value Guide' which we purchase for $20. from students, raising money for their school.

The Bovine's coupon entitled us to a buy one, get one, which we used for this meal. More than worth it for the salad bar, meal, excellent service and of course the incredible view!

Thanks Patrish! My wife is a fish fan and she always orders fish at Bovines and have found it very good each time.

We used to visit Divine's but found that they have declined over the years - Slow service, food not worth the price, etc... but Bovines continues to please us! Less expensive than Divines and (IMHO) better food!

Bovines is on our list every year!

Thanks again! Great to hear they are still good!

We ate at Bovine's in Sept 2010. It was a group of 10 of us. 8 of us ordered the brick oven pizzas, which we all agreed was the best pizza we had ever put in our mouths. Great toppings. One ordered a pork/apple dish (I don't see this on the menu anymore) he said it was good, but not the best. Only one person tried their fried seafood platter and he did not like it at all. We will definitely return, but we will all be getting pizza.

Gary, we actually do buy from students, but even if no student benefits were offered through the purchase, I like the fact that they give me the entire list of who is in the book, as well as what they are offering before I spend my $20.

It's important to me that I know upfront I'm going to get that $20. back during the first week of purchase by visiting restaurants we would go to anyhow....even if we didn't have a coupon. After that, anything else is gravy.

So we go to Bubba's Fish Shack for lunch, and use the $12. coupon. Blue Crab two nights later is another $12. and a sandwich at New England Deli just down at the corner, saves us another $5. The book has more than paid for itself in 4 days. Then the real savings start.......Bovine's, Black Thai, Divine, etc.

Yes, it would be wonderful if a part of everything we bought went to a charitable organization. Unfortunately, that doesn't always happen.

I've been wanting to try Bovines for 5 years!! But every time we take the drive down to Murrells Inlet, Drunken Jack's always wins. I might just have to betray my favorite for once and go to Bovines. It sounds yummy!

@Katie -- We used to Drunken Jacks every year, but I'm tired of the same old menu -- nothing there ever changes. We've been going to Bovines for a few years now and love it. Give it a try!

We had dinner at Bovine's tonight, and once again it was very good.
http://www.bovineswoodfired.com

Our waitress was Mackinzie who recently moved to Myrtle Beach from Charleston. She did an excellent job of taking care of us.

You know in advance that you are going to pay a little more at any of the Marshwalk restaurants in order to sit at a table where
you can enjoy the boats coming in and out.

As I mentioned the last time I reviewed this restaurant, they have a great salad bar. Not too large, but it contains many salad items
and a nice variety of dressings. Here's my salad:

I ordered the Fired Shrimp with a baked potato. (The corn pudding add hush puppies are added to all entrees.) It was more than
I could eat, and all very good. (Yes, I shared one of my hush puppies with Wally.) $18.95

Wally loves Shrimp & Grits, so I wasn't surprised when he chose it. I had a taste and agreed it was quite good. Both of us
thought we had a dozen shrimp in our entrees. His dinner was also $18.95
